October 9, 2010 – Trip to Chicago

Last week we had a REALLY big storm. Mommy’s school went into lockdown because someone reported a funnel cloud. There was hail and a lot of wind. Trees fell down everywhere and the school roof leaked all over. When Mommy came to pick me up it was only sprinkling but I liked using my umbrella that Mommy had in the trunk.


I was having yogurt for breakfast but I wasn’t really hungry and while Mommy was in the shower I thought I’d try a yogurt facial
I climbed up in my castle and kept yelling, “Mommy take picture! Take a picture!” so Mommy had to oblige. Friday after school we got on an airplane to Chicago to go see Aunt Dawn, Uncle John, Cassie and Johnny. I was very excited to ride on an airplane but I hated all the waiting and sitting still. Mommy said I was bad. I kept opening and closing the tray table, throwing things, standing in my sit, lying on the floor (I wanted to crawl under the seats like a tunnel). I wasn’t at all interested in watching a movie on the portable dvd player that daddy bought to entertain me on the flight. The best part was the landing and I asked, “Do it again. Go fast.” Uncle John picked us up at the airport. I recognized him as soon as I saw him but I still played a little shy. I fell asleep on the ride to their house but Aunt Dawn was waiting outside and I woke up to give her a hug. Cassie and Johnny were at Six Flags but they got home not long after we got there. We hid in Uncle John’s office to surprise them. I tried to stay quiet but didn’t really do a good job. They came running in and we were so excited to see each other.

    

    It is pretty and green here. Aunt Dawn and Uncle John have a huge yard with lots of grass to play in. I loved running around outside. They also have little statues of animals around the yard. I like to go touch the rabbit, the duck and the froggies.     Uncle John wanted to take me to the toy store so we went to Toy’s R Us together. Look Johnny and I had on matching outfits. They bought me some toys that I picked out. I got a Buzz car, a Batman monster truck, a batman car, a package of cars from the movies Cars, and a big bucket of knights and horses. They even had some toys cars and stuff here for me to play with.
   There were lots of huggies to go around.
We even went outside and explored in the dark. I had a flashlight and then a light up toy to help me see.  
We went to IKEA for a few minutes before it closed so Cassie and Johnny could get a few things for their home away from home. I got to ride in the cart and Uncle John pushed me fast. He even let me get a drink out of the fountain. He bought me a wooden train set. It is SOOOO cool! I LOVE IT! When we got home they set it up for me and I drove it around and around and around for hours. I didn’t want anyone else to touch my train.
