Poor Baby!

I was so sick Sunday night (cough and runny nose) so we had to stay home Monday. I had a fever (on and off), the cough, runny nose and diarrhea. Mommy said I looked so pathetic and it was really hard on her not being able to make it all better. This morning when we woke up I was still sick and so was Mommy. I even threw up for the first time. I just looked at it and said, "Oh no". Mommy took me to the doctor and they tested me for the flu but that wasn't it. I did have an ear infection though so they gave Mommy medicine. It tastes like bubblegum and I kind of like it. Mommy says that is a good thing because they make me take quite a bit. I lost 10 ounces in weight since I was at the doctor on Friday. I hope Mommy and I feel better tomorrow because she needs to get back to work and I miss all my friends at Misty's.

Desert Breeze

Yesterday we drove down to Tucson so Mommy could see Grammy. I even got to see Grammy through the window. I could see her better then she could see me. Daddy said I waved and said, "Hi". I can't wait to hug her! We got home late so I went straight to bed. This morning I woke up really early. By the time church was coming around I was starting to get fussy so we stayed home. Mom and Dad took me to Desert Breeze Park in Chandler. It was lots of fun. I rode the train, the carousel, and a baby ferris wheel thing. There was a huge playground and I played there for a little bit. I went down the twisty tunnel slide twice all by myself. Daddy and I went down the really big twisty together. I was getting hot and when I saw the splash park I headed over there. I had lots of fun getting all wet.

I climbed all the way up the big slide at Misty's.
I was really excited this morning to see my Harley that the Cherne's bought me.Mommy caught Daddy hanging out in the castle jamming with my cd player. I have a little daredevil streak in me.

I have the backwards down. I just need some work on going forward.

Today I am 17 months old! I had my first peanut butter and jelly sandwich today. It was yummy! Mommy picked me up from Misty's and took me to the doctor. We missed my 15 month check-up (Mommy thought they said I didn't have to go back until 18 months) and had to get my shots. I was not very happy about waiting for the doctor and I was even more fussy after I had 5 shots. Mommy took me to play on the playground outside for a little bit (had to wait 15 min to make sure no reaction from the flu shot) before we headed home. I climbed up the stairs and went down the twisty slide all by myself. The doctor said I weighed 25.14 lbs and was 32.5 inches tall. I have to go back in a month for my 18 month check-up and shots.

Fingerpainting

Yesterday I colored a pretty picture of a tree for Mommy. For breakfast I had 1 cup Kix cereal, and 1/2 banana. My morning snack was 4 oz peach yogurt, 1 piece of wheat toast with butter. At lunch we had 1/2 cup crockpot chicken, 2 bites squash casserole with cornbread, 1/2 quartered grapes and 4 oz pureed green beans. For afternoon snake I ate 1/4 cheddar cheese quesadilla, Chex Mix, and avocado (I just tried making guacamole). We read an ABC book, sang baby songs, went outside and played throwing and kicking a ball, had circle time and colored my tree.

Today we worked on the shape bucket, had circle time, and finger painted a leaf. We played outside and I climbed up the "Rock wall" and the big slide (like seen below).

For breakfast I had a Pillsbury biscuit, a piece of turkey, half a piece cheddar cheese, and some fruit. My morning snack was 1/2 cup goldfish crackers, 1/2 cup blueberries, and 4 oz strawberry/banana yogurt. At Lunch I ate 1/2 grilled cheese sandwich, 1/2 cup vegetable soup (I picked out and threw all the carrots on the floor), and 1/2 cup diced cantaloupe. My afternoon snack was Chex mix and 1/2 peach. Ok so I'm sure everyone isn't really interested in what I eat everyday but I just wanted everybody to see how good she feeds me. =)

Star Light, Star Bright

These are the sheets that Misty fills out for Mommy and Daddy EVERY day! Can you believe it? Mommy couldn't get the other babysitters to do it more than twice and all they had to do was circle things on a 1/4 sized paper. This is VERY detailed and lists everything I ate, drank, tells about my diapers, what we did, etc. Today for breakfast I ate homemade apple bread, 1/2 cup diced pears and some other fruit Mommy had brought from home. We worked on letter recognition and sang the ABC's. We had circle time where we sang songs and read stories. For snack I had 1/2 wheat tortilla and 1/2 cup scrambled eggs (Mommy keeps trying to feed me these two but I'm still not trying it). We worked on the color red and made hand print art (see below) and then made a fall tree picture with marker. For lunch I had 1 cup shepherd's pie with ground beef, potatoes and carrots. I also had a piece of cheddar Texas toast. I took a nap from 1:15 to 3:00 when Misty woke me up for snack because Mommy was coming to get me. I ate a cup of pretzels and 1/2 cup diced plums. I had two BM diapers and was changed four times in all. See what I mean? She is impressive! Oh yeah, she even had a piece of apple bread on a paper plate for Mommy to take (Mommy said it was REALLY good) and a Tupperware of shepherd's pie for Mommy to have. Mommy was going to have it for lunch but was so busy that she never ate and forgot all about it. Mommy said she'll have it for lunch tomorrow. Isn't that so sweet? We colored trees with a green marker. Of course I still try to eat it and got green on my mouth. No worries guys...it was non-toxic.
Today we learned the word red and I even got to make hand prints with paint. I liked the way the paint felt and wanted to try and finger paint so I moved a little but I didn't do too bad. I bet next time my hand prints will be even better. I ate my snack today with Ricky. Ricky is at daycare on the days with Ethan isn't (they are both 15 months).
Today we got to play at the water table. It was lots of fun and we got really wet.

So let me tell you a little about my new daycare. It is a home care but she is college educated and even licensed for childcare. She is also apart of the food program and so I get to eat really healthy food. She has already given Mommy a few good ideas of things to help me be healthy. Misty is the wonderful lady who is taking care of me. She has three daughters who are away at school during the day. They are really cute with long curly (spiral) hair. So far I think the youngest (5 years old) will be my favorite. There are two little girls that are 6 and 9 months old (Mommy's had a hard week and doesn't remember their names). They really move around a lot and both can already crawl forward. One of them is even pulling herself up on things. She also watches 2 little boys named Ethan and Ricky. They are both 15 months old. The don't come on the same days though. One comes three days and week and the other comes on the other two. So I always have one buddy my age. Cool huh? Mommy is so impressed with Misty!!! She even took these pictures so everybody can see. Mommy says that she is so good that everybody would be impressed and approve. Hopefully Aunt Dawn can get to meet her before they move to Chicago so she'll have an idea of who is taking care of me now.

1st Day With New Sitter

This is me with Ethan as we ate our snack. Ethan is 15 months and one of my new buddies at daycare.
I had a lot of fun playing in the big backyard and there is even a car for me to drive.

Ok, it's not Michigan colors like my car from the Cherne's but it was still pretty cool.

Mommy called in sick today but still took me to my first day at the new babysitter. I was really excited to see I got to go back (we visited once before) and instantly started exploring new toys and stuff. I waved bye-bye to Mommy and went about playing. Mommy was so excited! I always cry when they leave me in the church nursery or with my old babysitter. Daddy and cousin Johnny came to pick me up because Mommy was down in Tucson with Grammy. I had so much fun that I didn't even want to leave and cried. Daddy, Johnny and I had dinner together and played. I fell asleep before Mommy even got home.

Bye Bye to Cassie and Uncle John

Hard to tell from the picture but I got a good pucker from the lime.
We went to church this morning and then out to lunch at Applebee's with Papa. I really like my grilled cheese and the few bits of hot fudge sundae I got to try. I even tried a lime but it was really sour. After lunch we had to go to Wal-mart to buy some food and diapers. Today was Cassie and Uncle John's last night here in Tempe so we had to say good-bye. I didn't really understand but Mommy was crying and very sad to see them go. Once I figure out they aren't here anymore I'm going to be p.o'd! Grammy is sick in the hospital so Mommy is really upset and hoping that everyone is praying she makes a full recovery fast. Mommy and I said lots of prays because we love and need our Grammy!

McDonald's Playland

This morning we went and looked at two sectional couches we saw on Craigslist. Mommy and Daddy didn't like either of them. We had to wait for one lady to get back home so we went to McDonald's so I could play in the tunnels. Some bigger boys tried showing me where to go but I pretty much only checked out the first two rooms trying to stay close to Mommy and Daddy. Papa came up to visit and he even bought me a remote control airplane shape sorter. It is cool and I got the circle in the circle hole. Mommy was really proud of me and made a big deal about it.

There's only a second here but you can see my new Harley.

Water Slide

We went over to Aunt Dawn's today and I got to go swimming in my new pool again. We even moved my climber over and made it a water slide. It was so much fun! Aunt Dawn let me play with some sidewalk chalk and I colored pretty good on the ground. Uncle John was home for the last time before they move. In one of the videos I saw Uncle John. Uncle John asked me if I wanted to go to the toy store and I instantly gave him a kiss to let him know I sure did. We went to Toys R Us and Uncle John bought me a Harley Davidson Big Wheel Tricycle. It is so cool!!! Mommy didn't have her camera and didn't get any good pictures yet but I'm sure in no time I'll be cruisin' the neighborhood.

These are the new Handy Manny jammies Cassie got me. I love to sit at the big table. Mommy thinks I look older in this picture.
It is spirit week at Mommy's school and today was crazy hat day. Mommy borrowed a couple hats from uncle Johnny and I had to try them on of course.

My Cousins

Cassie and Johnny came over to visit me tonight. They missed me and Cassie even brought me new Handy Manny pajamas. I showed them some of my toys and then they saw how I watch Pete's Dragon. I love to cuddle up with them both!

Ganghis

We got up this morning and got ready for church but when Mommy and Daddy tried putting my shoes on I decided to throw a screaming fit. Mommy and Daddy took that to mean I needed a nap and probably wouldn't behave in the nursery so we stayed home. I sat down with Dad (who thought I would fall asleep) and we watched Stuart Little. Jax got his haircut and he looks funny. It was good but I scared when the cat ate Stuart. Later we went to lunch with Aunt Dawn and Johnny at Ganghis Grill. Mommy made me my own bowl but I was upset and didn't want to sit down so Aunt Dawn walked around outside with me for a little while and then Mommy and Johnny came out. There was a cool fountain that was neat to watch and the pigeons were fun to chase around. I was so friendly with all the people at the Tempe Marketplace. Whenever I saw a little kid or a baby in the stroller I walked over, waved, and said, "Hi". Before bed I was playing with Daddy's hat. I always put baseball caps on sideways for some reason. I like standing between the dressers in mom and dad's room.

My Little Fireman

I like to play with hats and put anything and everything on my head. Currently, I am particularly fond of my fireman's hat. I even make the siren noise sometimes. Mommy took these pictures of me playing with it this morning. Today Michigan was playing Notre Dame so we all wore our Michigan shirts and I watched some of the game before my nap. They won and Daddy was really happy. We went over to Aunt Dawn's for dinner. It was really good and I ate a bunch of my chicken fried steak. After dinner we went to my first concert. Well technically my 2nd, I saw the Counting Crows from inside Mommy's stomach. One of Daddy's friends was playing at the Mesa Amphitheatre for a charity show. I was trying to dance in my stroller and I clapped at the end of each song. It was cool!
