Barbecue

We went to Aunt Dawn's for a barbecue. We all went swimming and I even drank a bottle in the pool. Afterwards I was pretty tired and I fell asleep in my new swing. I took a little nap while everyone else watched a movie called What Happens in Vegas. Mom and Dad seemed to think it was funny. The Cherne's bought me a Pooh blanket and I slept with it. They ate homemade strawberry ice cream but I didn't get any. Dad even licked the beaters clean. Before we left cousin Johnny played his guitar for me

Mommy's Bad Day

Mommy is having a bad day. The phone rang at 6:30 am this morning. The ringing woke up Gabby (my big dog) who apparently had bad diarhea she couldn't hold. Of course the ringing also woke me up and I was finally sleeping peacefully in my own bed. Now Mommy had to clean the yucky carpet and take Gabby to the vet because she's been having problems for a little while now. Mommy was worried she might have to put Gabby to sleep. The vet said Gabby has a bacteria infection and it should get better with medicine but it cost Mommy $130. We had to take Daddy to work (he was watching me while Mommy was at the vet and couldn't take the bus because it was too late) and on the way home Mommy got a ticket. She told me it was a speed trap but I think she might have been going a little fast. When Mommy pulled off a side street there were already two different motorcycle cops writing two other people tickets...we made three. Now Mommy has $177 speeding ticket. Oh but it doesn't stop there. Last week Mommy's work told her they had to use her sick days. This wasn't really good news but it did mean that Mommy would be getting a paycheck for these days and that made Mommy and Daddy happy. The paycheck was supposed to come yesterday and didn't. Today Mommy called to find out if it was at school but it was not. Apparently there had been a mistake and the sick days were issued in error so there was not going to be a paycheck. Daddy had Mommy take him to the bank yesterday to get the rent check and this reminded Mommy that she has to pay my insurance for the month of September. They have to have this $360 check before the 1st so now Mommy has to drive there. Argghh...poor Mommy. I'm trying to be a good boy for her today because she isn't in the best mood. 4 Month Doctor Visit

I went back to the doctor for my 4 month well visit today. I got to see fish for the first time. They are kind of hard to see in the picture a yellow one above my head and a blue and yellow one on the left were my favorite. I really watched them swim around. The doctor looked me over and said everything is fine. I'm a big healthy boy. My right eye is still goopy and my hydrocelle is still present but they'll keep waiting to see if they go away by the time I'm a year old. Mommy was hoping the doctor might give her the ok to feed me a little baby cereal...me too actually! The doctor said Mommy could but that she really should wait until I'm 5 or 6 months old because the sooner I eat that stuff the more likely I am to develop food allergies and skin problems. Before the visit Mommy told me we'd have cereal but when we came home I didn't eat any so I guess we're waiting like the doctor said. I'm in the 90 percentile for weight and the 50 percentile for height. I was 17 lbs 7.5 oz and 25.25 inches long (I either shrunk or they aren't measuring correctly each time). I had four immunizations again today. YUCK! I'm not very happy and am pretty fussy today.

New Toys

Daddy went to court this morning but nothing new really happened. He goes back on September 16th where hopefully they'll finally have a plea agreement. Aunt Dawn babysat me this afternoon while Mommy went to school to get some papers filled out. Mommy brought home a big foam map of the United States that she had at school (it used to be my cousin Cassie and Johnny's when they were little). We put it together in my room because it will be soft for me to play on. Uncle John hung up a swing for me at their house. It was fun! I like it outside at their house. I was enjoying my ride so much that I feel asleep. Uncle John and Daddy talked for a long time. Daddy really enjoyed visiting with him. I think everyone is so glad my Daddy is home...especially me! I got to sleep with my Daddy for the first time. I look pretty comfortable huh?

Daddy's Home

Daddy got out and came home this morning! I was sleeping when we went and got him at 4:30 am. It probably hasn't sunk in yet because I'm used to seeing him all the time but I'll probably catch on when I see him around a lot more often. I love my Daddy! The photo above is for you Grammie...see Daddy does smile.

Road Trip to Tucson

I went on my second trip out of town this weekend. The first trip I took was to Palm Desert, California to see Great-Grandma Allece but this time I went to Grammie and Papa's in Tucson. I got to see Grammie, Papa, and Uncle Jeff. I met Jax's (my doggie) mom and dad (Buddy & Chloe) and Uncle Jeff's dog Tigger too. Grammie even bought me a bed to use while I'm down there. It's a big red fire engine. I think I'll really like it when I'm a little bigger. I got a new blue octopus toy that is going to teach me my colors in English and in Spanish. Of course I went swimming and I even tried to drink out of a cup. Notice my teddy in multiple shots. I've become very fond of the teddy holding a blanket that Aunt Shannon sent.

My First Haircut

Mommy cut my hair while I was sleeping last night. She says she just trimmed it in the front, above my ears and in the back but I'm not sure because Daddy freaked out when he saw me. He instantly knew I'd had a haircut even though Mommy didn't tell him or think he'd notice (he had told her he didn't want her to cut it). You can see my before and after pictures above. It's not that bad dad! =)

Bath Time

Talking on the Phone

I love to talk on the phone! I babble and make lots of sounds. I get mad when Mommy takes the phone away. Today I heard Papa and Grammie on the speakerphone (see video below). I just stared and stared at the phone because I couldn't figure out where the voices were coming from. I haven't seen them in awhile and I miss them.

Sitting Up

I'm doing such a good job sitting up. I need support of course but I'm getting better with practice. I sure like my new Bumbo. This last week I've started putting EVERYTHING in my mouth. I just started loving my stuffed animals. My favorite is the teddy bear with a blanket that Aunt Shannon gave me. I give him hugs and eat his ears or his tail. He goes everywhere with me. Mom needs to find out where Aunt Shannon got it so she can buy extras. If it gets lost or something I might throw a fit.

Marlo and my mohawk

Yesterday Mommy and me went to visit Marlo. Marlo is the woman we wrote about awhile back who was in a motorcycle accident when we were taking Daddy to work. She is doing pretty good and is out of the hospital and in a nursing home. Daddy did my hair special for Mommy and gave me a mohawk. Since my hair stands up most of the time anyway Mommy didn't really mind. Today we went to Mommy's school because she had some work to do. Of course everyone said how cute I was, how big I was and commented on how much hair I had.

Last day with Grandma Karen and Great-Grandma Vita =(

This morning Mommy cooked breakfast for everyone. After breakfast we went outside and took a bunch of pictures together. We had to take Grandma Karen and Great-Grandma Vita to the airport because they were going home. Everyone was sad to say goodbye. I sure hope I get to see them again soon. I sat in my high chair for the first time today. I love it but I sure wish they would give me some food.

I like to shop...just like Daddy.

Today we went out to breakfast at Mimi's. Why won't they ever let me have any of that good food? I had a little accident but Mommy got me all cleaned up in the bathroom. It was so embarrassing! I had to sit at the breakfast table in just my diaper. Grandma Karen, Great-Grandma, Mommy and I hung out at the house for a bit. Great-Grandma wanted to take a nap so Grandma Karen, Mommy and me went to IKEA. I fell asleep on the way and didn't even wake up until we got home. We all went to AZ Mills Mall to look for some souvenir shirts Grandma Karen wanted to take my cousins Ella and Kara. After that we came home and they barbecued...of course I didn't get any!

My First Visit to the Urgent Care

I went out to breakfast this morning with Mommy, Daddy, Grandma Karen and Great-Grandma Vita. I didn't get to eat any of the food of course but I drooled and watched everyone else eat. I can't wait until I get food or can eat the pancakes at I-HOP. After breakfast we took Daddy to work and then went shopping. Grandma Karen bought me a Baby Einstein DVD and Great-Grandma Vita bought me some books at Sams club. I love to read and can't wait until Mommy reads me my new books. Next, we went to Toys R Us. It was my very first time in a toy store but I was sleeping most of the time. They bought me more books and a new pair of pajamas that said, "Daddy's Team." When we got home I got to watch my new DVD. It was amazing! I was absolutely mesmerized. Later that night we picked up Daddy from work and went out to dinner. I did not feel good. Something was wrong so I started screaming. I screamed and screamed. Both Mommy and Daddy tried feeding me, walking me around, taking me outside, checking my diaper, etc. I just kept screaming because something hurt so bad! Mommy and Daddy were freaking out trying to make me better but they just couldn't. We left the restaurant and they took me to the doctor. I feel asleep on the way of course and seemed fine by the time I got there. The doctor said I looked good and he didn't see anything wrong. It was probably just a gas bubble in my tummy (I drank a BIG bottle of formula when we were out shopping today). While we were there I got weighed and am up to 16 lbs 6 oz. Aunt Dawn brought me some medicine that made me feel better and I went to bed.

Ferry Family Visit

This morning Grandma Karen and Great Grandma Vita came over. We left and picked up Daddy before going out to breakfast at Cracker Barrel. I didn't get any of the good food they were eating (trust me I tried to make it known I wanted some) but they gave me a bottle. We all visited before taking Daddy to work. We went back to our house and hung out some more. Mommy showed them lots of pictures of me and Daddy doing his dancing video. Great-Grandma Vita was tired and wanted to rest so Grandma Karen took her back to the hotel. She came back and I hung out with her for awhile. We went to get Daddy from work and pick up Great-Grandma. We came home, had dinner and visited awhile before taking Daddy back.

Grandma Karen and Great-Grandma Ferry

I was so excited to meet my grandma and great-grandma. They were flying in from Michigan and supposed to be here around 3pm but their flight was delayed and they didn't get to Tempe until after 9pm. Even then it was storming and someone got hit by lightening at the airport so they had to wait forever just to get their luggage. They were stuck in the airport all day! I hope seeing me brightened their spirits. After such a long day they were still so excited to see me they still came by. It was about midnight here (3 am their time) when I got to meet them for the first time. I tried so hard to stay awake for them but I was totally zonked out. I heard their voices and woke right up. I was laughing, smiling and talking. It was like I knew them all along. They didn't stay long because everyone was tired but I'll see them again tomorrow.
