When Daddy picked me up from daycare on Thursday we were playing dress up. At first he just saw my teacher Miss Cassie wearing a funny outfit and he laughed. She said, “Wait until you see what your son is wearing.” We get to pick out our own outfits and this is what I selected. I think Daddy was proud because he whipped out his phone to get a picture. I play dress up at home too. Yesterday I was dressed up as a fireman. Yesterday my daddy came home with pizza for dinner. Yummy! My favorite but I didn’t really eat much. I was having a few bites when I decided to strip and peed all over the floor on the way to the potty. Daddy got out the mop and cleaned up the mess. I went running across the floor and hit the wet spot. My feet quickly slipped out from under me and I landed flat on my back and my head hit the tile HARD. It made such a loud noise that mommy says just thinking about it makes her cringe. By the way this isn’t the first time I’ve done that. I think it’s like the third. I cried for a few minutes but seemed just fine. I told mommy and daddy that, “I bumpid head. Head hurt.” Mommy got on the computer and did her usual research of things to check and watch out for. I seemed ok so we went on as normal. I stayed up a little late but then went to bed around 9pm. Mommy came and woke me up before she went to bed around midnight. She just wanted to make sure I was ok (you know those concussion things about waking them every few hours). Then around 1:15 I woke up and threw up all over. Not just a little bit. A whole lot everywhere and on everything in and immediately surrounding my bed. Mommy and Daddy freaked out because one of the things to watch for with a head injury is vomiting. They rushed me to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
What a great hospital. Mommy says we won’t go anywhere else in an emergency again. We got in quickly and had our own room (with a door I couldn’t open and escape which mommy thought was a huge bonus). We did see Daddy’s friend Riley in the lobby. He was coming to stay the night with his son, and my buddy from play dates, Aiden. Aiden also fell down but he hit his eye really bad and he was having to spend the night in the hospital. All the doctor and nurses were kid friendly and had cool toys hanging on their lanyards. When they shinned a light in my eyes it came out of a dolphin that made funny noises. The nurse who took my vitals gave me a bunch of Cars stickers which I continued to move from my shirt to daddy’s shirt, to mommy’s shirt and then back again all night. The coolest part was there were tvs everywhere and they had like 5 channels that just played kids animated movies. I saw some of Cars, Ratatouille, Planet 51, and Monsters vs. Aliens. I had a temperature and was still throwing up in the hospital. I got sick all over my clothes so that’s why I’m wearing this funny gown. I was really good for the doctors and did everything I was suppose to when asked. They decided to do a CT just to be sure I was ok because of my throwing up. A funny man with a beard came to my room and gave me a ride in a wheelchair. It was so much fun as he spun me around, went fast, and swerved side to side. He also had magic powers and he would wave his arm and the doors would open. They had lots of cool toys and stickers on the machine to help me stay really still while they took pictures of my head inside a big donut. Afterwards I got to see the toy train with all whole big city. We got back to our room and I finally crashed out on Daddy’s chest. After about 30 or 40 minutes the doctor came in and gave me the all clear. They say my scan was clear and I must have just caught a virus. They gave me medicine to help with my nausea and fever before we headed home. Didn’t I just have the flu two weeks ago?
One of the movies we watched this afternoon was Alvin and the Chipmunks. It’s one of my new favorite movies.
Mommy took this video while on the phone with Aunt Dawn this past week. She had put an empty soda can on the little refrigerator and it still had a teeny tiny sip which I really enjoyed.
