May 21, 2010-Videos

I’ve been having problems inserting videos in the posts. These two were suppose to be in yesterday’s post but wouldn’t go through. The 1st one is CJ swimming and the 2nd one is where he was having the fit about not getting to see another show.

May 21, 2010 – 1st Swim of the Year

P1150036I insisted on walking around the house eating corn the other night. It was pretty good. I only eat corn on the cob.

Mommy and Daddy try to only let me watch one show or movie a day but this week I was pretty insistent on getting to see another show. We had already watched Pete’s Dragon but as you can see I really wanted to watch another show.

This morning I woke up with a fever 101.4 but I was acting fine. Mommy gave me Tylenol and it went down. She had to take me to daycare because she couldn’t stay home and Daddy was already at work. Mommy told my teacher and then arranged to have Daddy call and check on him in an hour to see if he needed to head home. They said I was doing fine so I stayed all day but when Mommy picked me up I was really warm. When we got home and she took my temperature it was 103. Mommy felt super bad! I had to take more medicine and didn’t want a bath so we went for a swim to cool me down. It was our first swim of the year and it was great! I’m so excited for the summer. I was paddling, kicking, jumping. It was a blast.

Mommy only has 1 week left before summer vacation. Four days with students and one teacher work day. I’m so excited to hang out with Mommy this summer. We are going to have lots of fun! Mommy took these pictures of her classes at school today. Not everyone is pictured because there are always absences and some kids have already been suspended for the remainder of the year (they do a reverse suspension).

Some of these ninth graders Mommy has known for three years and a few she’ll still work with a few at her new high school next year. Mommy says t

his has been a very long year and a trying group of students (the worst of those are not pictured). Mommy’s dealt with std’s, pregnancy, fights, bullies, deaths in families, homelessness, parental kidnapping, CPS, domestic abuse, sexual abuse, hunger, gangs, guns, drugs, murder, parents in prison, illness, probation, ankle bracelets, truancy, theft, etc.  You name it she probably saw and dealt with it. She says she has been called every name in the book in both English and Spanish but she still loves it and is going to miss teaching middle school and all most of her colleagues from Powell.

They gave Mommy this cool t-shirt. It says Powell 1972-2010 and on the back: Will the last one out please turn off the lights? What a lovely parting gift for years of hard work at a very difficult school. This is a picture of her with two of her closest friends/co-workers (Katie and Terry).

I’m still afraid to walk across the suspension bridge all by myself. I was crawling but stopped in the middle and got scared.

The pool is still filling up. Mommy and Daddy say that it looks really deep when it is drained. Even the steps are tall. Mommy made Daddy climb in so she could take this picture. She didn’t think the photos really showed how deep it was. Daddy was excited about it because the water was cold and it had already been filling for 7 hours. Mommy is going to turn the hoses off when she goes to bed tonight but it still needs a few hours. Here is what it looked liked at about 9 pm (after 33 hours of filling).
P1150024It’s dirty because the filter hasn’t been on and it was a little breezy today. Mommy and Daddy will turn everything back on tomorrow when the pool is full. They even replaced the bulb in the light so we can swim at night. Woo hoo! Now I just have to wait for it to warm up. I’m so excited about swimming!

Last night Mommy and Daddy went out to see Second City Does Arizona Close but No Saguaro. They went with Mommy’s friend from work and her husband (Katie and Kevin). I stayed home with Cassie (she is one of the teachers from my daycare) and another little girl named Chanel. We had fun and I showed her all my toys. It was funny because when she came in she said, “You have a castle…IN YOUR house” and then later she said, “I think he would be bored at daycare.” Thanks to everyone who spoils me so much!

Mommy and Daddy drained our swimming pool with the help of Daddy’s friend Andy. We had something called mustard algae that costs a lot to get rid of and keeps coming back. Plus the water was really old (10-11 years since last draining) so they drained it and it is now filling back up. Daddy cleaned the tile, bought new houses, filters, and a new bulb for the light. Our pool is going to be so nice this summer. I can’t wait!

I finally got a folder outside of the two’s room at school. This is where the teachers put all my artwork so that Mommy can pick it up. I used to have one in the one’s room but because I was never in there it never had anything. I didn’t have an official two’s room folder so Mommy hadn’t gotten any art work in a little while. So on Friday when she picked me up she saw my folder with all the papers they had been saving. Check out some of my work below…

Oh yeah, we went to the doctor on Friday for my 2 year old check-up. I’m in the 75th percentile for weight and my height is average. I am now just over 31 pounds and about 34.25 inches. The best part was I didn’t have to get any shots.
