July 4th, 2010 – 4th of July

Happy 4th of July everybody! Today Daddy and I wore matching shirts and played with some Uncle Sam type hats.  I got to play outside with Grammie for awhile. We played cars on the patio and in the dirt. It was lots of fun because Mommy has never let me take my cars outside before.
I sat at the big table to eat my meals. It was cool to eat with all the grownups. I even had a peach all slouched down in the chair. It was much more comfy then sitting on my plastic chair at a little coffee table. Of course we went swimming again. I got to try this cool float Grammie and Papa had. It was neat because I could just sit in the little net and float around. When I dropped my toys I could still reach them because they didn’t sink all the way to the bottom.
          

Grammie, Daddy and I played a game where my hat was pulled down so I couldn’t see and I ran between Daddy and Grammie. Check out the video to see.
 
I insisted that everyone follow me into this small corner by Grammie and Papa’s bedroom. I took each person (Mommy, Daddy, Grammie, Papa, Uncle Jeff and then the dogs) and told them, “Come on. Let’s go. That-a way” I took them by hand and made them follow me here. That was pretty much all there was to the game but I didn’t like when people wanted to leave so I would bring them back.
 
Grammie showed me a really cool spot to drive me cars under their coffee table. It was neat because I had two levels I could drive on.

Mommy and I were just chillin’ watching a movie. Papa and Grammie had saved up lots of shows for me (they are good like that!). Later we went for a walk in the neighborhood. Daddy, Grammy and I even had a race. I liked walking around with Tigger.
 

When it was time for fireworks (past my bedtime) we went outside on the front patio to watch. You could see fireworks all over Tucson (like 10 different shows) but they were mostly all far away and small. Then a little while later Tucson Country Club started setting off their fireworks and those ones were much closer and big. I was like, “Ooooo….ahhhh…wow….pretty!” I spent last fourth of July watching fireworks with Grammy too. I think we might have to make it a tradition.

July 3, 2010 – Grammie & Papa’s Pool

Mommy spent the morning packing and getting our things ready for a trip to Tucson to see Grammie, Papa and Uncle Jeff. Daddy had to take the car to the Chandler Fire Department to fix my car seat because the dealership had taken it out. The firemen are the best and they always put it so tight that it doesn’t move at all. This was the third time we had them install a car seat for me. They are so good we will just keep going back and Mommy even wants to send them a thank you. We didn’t head out until 1 pm so I was pretty tuckered out and I slept most of the way. Jax had to go pee and Daddy saw a sign for Dairy Queen so they stopped at Casa Grande. Mommy and I stayed in the car while Daddy walked Jax and got a malt shake. Mommy was holding out for Eegee’s.
  
I couldn’t wait to check out Grammie and Papa’s pool so we all went for a swim. I even went down the slide with Daddy, jumped off the rocks and went under the waterfall. I like their pool it has lots of neat stuff and a big ledge that is the perfect height for me to walk around on. Uncle Jeff even brought Tigger over and I got to go swimming with a doggie. That was really neat seeing the doggie swim and jump in. After swimming in the big pool I went in the jacuzzi with Grammie and Papa (the water wasn’t really heated) and it was a perfect little pool I could walk around in.   
I used the potty and Grammie let me have a mini Tootsie Pop. It was really good. I also got a chocolate after I peed in the bushes outside after swimming.  Mommy of course took way too many pictures but loves them all so here’s a video of all the pics from the first day. July 2, 2010 – See Food

   
Tonight we had to take the mini-van back. It took forever. The car wasn’t really done and so we had to wait, the bill was wrong and we had to wait and then they had taken my car seat out so we had to wait. It was a lot of waiting and because they were closing I only got to play in the pirate ship for a few minutes. They were trying to be nice and so they detailed the car but it ended up being a bigger mess and hassle.

July 1, 2010 - Airplane

Mommy was trying to take a nap on the couch (because I was up early) but I told her to get up. I climbed up on the couch, pulled the blanket over me and said, “Bed. Night. Night.” Mommy was impressed particularly because I didn’t actually take a nap. She finally reclaimed her spot and as soon as she dozed off I wiped off my diaper and ran around naked. I sat down on the potty and went pee. I was so excited I yelled, “Potty! Potty! Look!” That of course woke Mommy from her slumber and she was a little startled but she got all excited and I earned my chocolate.

During my nap I tried taking my shirt off but I could only get one arm out. Mommy thought I looked funny so she insisted on taking this picture right after I woke up. I told her not to and pointed for her to go to bed. I told her, “Go bed. Night, Night!” She wasn’t having any of that though and promised only to show the photo to you.
 
She painted and glued together a plane for me while I was napping. It’s one of the $1 kits we bought at Michael’s yesterday. She said an axle was missing though so that’s why it doesn’t have wheels. I’m ok with that because then they don’t get in the way when I hold it and fly it around. It’s cool that I’ve added a plane to my collection.
 
 
We painted again today. I liked it and used lots of colors but I spent so long painted the first one that I got distracted by Daddy arriving home before I got to finish the second.  I’ll finish my train tomorrow. Our car still isn’t fixed (tomorrow they say) so I got to ride in the minivan again today. I wanted to sit in the back but Mommy made me sit in the car seat. We are all digging the minivan. I heard Mommy say something about saving up to get one. My fingers are crossed.

Did you know that I can stand up in the minivan? That is so cool! It’s super easy and there’s lots of room for Mommy to change my diaper and put on my swimsuit (like when we went to the splash pad). It’s way better then lying down in the trunk of the Solara.
 
There is even a place for my feet to rest. Yeah it’s the back of Daddy’s seat but it was still comfy.

Do we look like a minivan family? Nah…I didn’t think so either but this picture was taken after we got out of the pool and headed to Sonic to grab some drinks and dinner so that’s why we all look so grungy.
