Happy New Year!

So today Mommy had to go downtown and sign the final papers to pick up the settlement check for the Workman's Compensation case. Mommy thought it would be fun and save gas if we took the new light rail instead of driving. I don't know if Mommy will do that again. It took us three hours to get there and get back. The trains were SO CROWDED and HOT! Mommy had to stand holding me about halfway in both directions. I had fun looking at all the people but it was a little hot and I was getting tired near the end so I just took a nap. We picked up Daddy from work and had dinner at the Cherne's. Daddy, Dawn and John put Aunt Dawn's pomegranate tree in the ground. Aunt Dawn loves pomegranates so I hope her tree gives her a lot of big fruit. Cousin Johnny kept me wrapped up and warm while we watched. I love my aunt, uncle and cousins!! They are SO GREAT to me and my family!!!!!!!!!I tried pretty hard to stay up for the New Year but I fell asleep at about 11:30. Mommy hopes 2009 is a great year but she's not sure it can top 2008.

8 months old

I am sure moving around quickly. Mommy can hardly turn her back and I'm getting into something. She says that she needs to baby proof everything and that I'm a little ball of energy.

I love to give the baby in the mirror kisses. Sometimes I head butt him but usually I just kiss him because he is so cute.

I'm getting so big. This is my 8 month picture for my baby book.

My Friend Alexa

This morning we took our time getting ready at then went over to Dawn’s around 11:00. We had lunch with Mommy’s cousins Brenda, Ashley, Alexis, Jenny and her boyfriend Taylor. I liked Alexis because she is three and liked to play with me. We had the most fun playing in my ball pit. She liked to play with my toys and I was good at sharing. Mommy and everyone all ate Mexican food that aunt Dawn made. Mommy said it was really good. Grammy left to take Nana back home to Palm Desert. There was a big wind storm and Nana’s patio and swamp cooler got ripped off and it made a big mess so she had to go back early to get it fixed. We picked up Daddy from work and went back to the Cherne’s for leftovers.

The Day After Christmas

This morning Mom and I lounged around and played with some of my new toys. We finished opening up all my presents from Mommy and Daddy. They bought me a bunch of stuff to decorate my room from IKEA. I got green and blue baskets, mats and buckets. I got a little train with balls inside that pop when I move it, a blue and green dragon hamper, a puppet, some soft balls, some little stuffed animals I can chew on, a bunch of books Mommy bought at the Scholastic sale, cowboys boots and a tub time tugboat. Santa brought me an Elmo Live, a red chair and a book. I'm still a little fussy from my new teeth but Mommy tried getting some stuff cleaned up because it's pretty messy around our house. This afternoon we picked up Daddy and went back to the Cherne's for dinner. We had leftovers and Daddy got to see all my new toys from yesterday.

Colton's First Christmas

I had to take a break and eat.
This morning we woke up and I got to play with my crawl and cruise play set. Mom and Dad got it for me. It plays music and has animals and balls that roll around. After we got dressed and ready we went back to the Cherne's. There were still presents for me to open. I was a little fussy and Mommy wanted me to be happy so I went slow and took all day opening up my presents. I got some more clothes, a big bath set with a fishing pole and a net, a green frog pillow with a green blanket inside, a baby cell phone, a Little Tykes guitar, a rocking giraffe, a big blue monster truck, Noah's ark, a box shape sorter, stacking cones, and a car race track. For lunch/dinner they ate ham and scalloped potatoes but all I got was baby oatmeal and some bananas. Hopefully next Christmas I can eat some of the food. I had a great Christmas! Thank you everyone!

Christmas Eve-Part 2

Santa takes a little swing.
Santa sits on Nana's lap. What? These are all for me?Hmmm...Where do I begin?
I'll just rest over here and think about which one I want to open first.
We went over to the Cherne's to celebrate Christmas Eve. They had a really good dinner with turkey, mash potatoes, green beans, bread. All I got was baby oatmeal and Beechnut green beans. Daddy won't be here in the morning so we broke Christmas tradition (open one present Christmas eve) and Daddy opened all his presents and I got a few too. Daddy got a lot of clothes, a Michigan lanyard for his keys, a key chain that holds digital pictures and a new cellphone with the works. I got a bunch of new animals for my Fischer Price train and even a new piece to add to the train. I got the mommy and baby tiger, a mommy and baby cow, a hippo, a pig, a panda, a duck, a lion, and a baby horse. I got some books and a dish set from Nana. I liked the box the dishes came in and used it to play the drums.

This book was great. I love Baby Einstein! I love books and I love eating stuff!

Almost Christmas

We started celebrating Christmas today. Daddy can't be with us on Christmas day and there is SO much for me to open we had to begin early. Here I am wearing my Deck the Halls pajamas that Grammie bought for me last year. Here I'm playing in the box that Aunt Shannon sent. It was filled with A LOT of gifts but I thought the box was so much fun.

I did pretty good opening my presents. My favorite part was trying to eat the paper.

Daddy loved my Michigan warm-up but based on this face Mommy isn't sure I'm a fan. Daddy even opened some of his presents. He was so excited and tried on everything as he opened it. I think my Daddy really loves clothes.

I got so many things. My Aunt Shannon, Uncle Brent, Grammy and Papa Ferry all spoiled us. I got a bunch of new clothes (Adidas sweatsuit, Nike warm-up, Santa suit, a Michigan warm-up, Gap pants and a long sleeve red shirt, a blue collared shirt, a Carter onesie set, tagless onesies, an orange thermal onesie, a fuzzy Carter suit, and a pair of fuzzy jammies with monkey on them). I got two new pair of shoes. One are tennis shoes with crayons on them and the other are sandals that will light up when I walk. I even got some new toys like an octopus with shapes to sort for the bathtub, a Laugh and Learn snail , a Lift it Luke tractor with a big rock, Sea Buddies bath toys, a black lamb stuffed animal, a Baby Einstein First Words book, and a farm animals book. Daddy and Mommy got stuff to make them smell good (cologne, lotion, air freshener, etc.) and they both got gift cards to go do some more shopping. Thank you Aunt Shannon, Uncle Brent, Grammy and Papa Ferry, Aunt Julie and Uncle Keith, Becky and Todd!!!! Wow! I think my first Christmas is going to be a big one.

Jax as a snowman

Jax got in the holiday spirit and took a picture posing as a snowman. Doesn't he look cute? Mommy fell down and went boom this morning. She was carrying me downstairs and slipped landing on her behind and bouncing several steps. She kept me safe though and I actually laughed because I thought we were playing. She really hurt her coccyx (tailbone) and is in a little bit of pain. Oh yeah my first tooth popped through my gums on Friday. You can see both bottom front teeth but the one on the left side is a lot higher. I've been a little bit fussy because it really hurts but I'm such a trooper and am taking it like a big boy.

Christmas Ornaments

I got to help Daddy open up the first Christmas presents. Grammy Patty told use we needed to open these two ahead of time. They were really cute ornaments for my first Christmas. One of them was Noah's Ark and it said Colton's First Christmas. The other one was a reindeer and a string of lights and it said Our First Christmas and then had each of our names on one of the lights. It even had Jax! They were really neat and are already hanging on the tree. Thanks Grammy and Papa Ferry!

Still working on this crawling thing. Look where I backed myself into now. This hide-n-seek game with Mommy is fun.

Johnny Jump Up

Mommy bought me a Johnny Jump Up. It will only fit in the upstairs bathroom door though and that's not a real fun place to play. I don't really know how to make it bounce yet but I had fun walking and spinning in it. I keep scooting myself backwards and getting trapped here. Don't tell Mommy but I'm practicing for our first game of Hide-n-Seek.
