1st year

Here are the rest of the pictures we took last week. They are supposed to be my 12 month/1 year pictures but really I was 13 months when they took the pics. Shhh! Mommy says don't tell anyone she was that far behind.

So who voted that I could go to the circus but only if they could come too? Mommy is looking at buying the tickets and needs to know who is coming?

More Bubbles

Grammie and Papa came up for the day and stayed the night. We all hung out at Aunt Dawn's for the day. I got to eat a lot of good stuff including my recent favorite blackberries and raspberries. Mmmm good! Papa let me listen to the music on his phone and I liked that. I got to get me something like that since I enjoy music so much. Aunt Dawn filled the sink with soap while washing dishes and threw it at me. I thought it was hilarious! Mommy, Daddy, Cassie, Johnny, Grammie and me all went swimming at the water park. It was fun. Daddy and Johnny even went on the slides and had a diving contest.

Turn up the volume because my laugh is the best part.

Red Wings Lose =(

Today we went and updated my state ID picture (they had told Mommy I should come back after I was one). Tonight we went over to Aunt Mickey's for the final game in the Stanley Cup playoffs. Mommy tried making me a Wing's t-shirt to wear using iron-on decals she made on the computer but she forgot it would come out backwards...oops! Mommy took the picture of it through the mirror so you could read it. There was lots to eat and I got crackers, cheese, pickle, bites of pizza and some melon. Ummm good! I had fun playing with Aunt Mickey and Aunt JP.

Art and Swim

Today we woke up late and barely made it to art class. Today's theme was the ocean. We made a paper plate octopus. The art teacher told Mommy, "Good use of sequins". We also made a dolphin picture, painted a seashell and used some stamps.I made a mess with the paint but it was fun to get dirty. After art we had my last swim class. I'm going to miss swimming everyday! We went over to the Cherne's for dinner. I was sleepy and I fell asleep on Aunt Dawn. I'm glad Mommy is home for the summer but I sure do miss spending everyday with her.

KIWANIS SWIM CLASS

Mommy took pictures of me at swim. She thought some of the other moms might like pictures too so here is the link so they can download pics of their little one.

If you have any problems just email my Mommy at kimpenn@cox.net

Also if any of the moms want to set up a playgroup or our own swim time email my Mommy. We could meet once a week or something. There is a neat public pool/water park at Chandler and Kyrene that has the shallow beach and a splash playground (siblings can come of course).

Harley

After swim today Mommy took me to get my pictures taken. We won't get them until next week but they emailed these ones to Mommy. I didn't really like the bike and the vest and hat were a little too big for me so we took the pictures without it. After dinner Aunt Mickey and Aunt JP came by and we all went out for ice cream. I got to have some bites of raspberry sorbet.

Swimming

Daddy felt a little out of place with all the mommies but I told him we were special.

I'm feeling better now and my fever is finally gone. I went to swimming yesterday with Daddy. It was fun but I'm still not enjoying the back float. My favorite is when we sing songs. Last night Mommy took me for a long ride in my Michigan car all the way down to the bus stop to meet Daddy but Daddy took a different bus up the street and we missed him. Today after swimming we picked up Cassie and went to a different public pool. This one was a little better than the last one. It had a similar playground in the water with a beach entrance but it also had a tire swing in the water. There was also a small lazy river you could float around in and even a whirlpool. Mommy thought the whirlpool was really cool. It was like a draining bathtub and the closer you got to the middle the faster around you went.

Here are some videos of me at swim class.

Fever

I woke up Saturday morning with a fever of 102.8. Mommy freaked out because she has never seen a fever that high. She gave me some Tylenol and a bath. My fever went down a little but I went right back to sleep which was highly unusual. She called the doctor and they got me in at 8:40. The doctor thinks I might have Roseola and she said it will last three days and then I'll get a rash. I ran a fever most of the day. We went over to the Cherne's for dinner and I had fun seeing everybody but I still didn't feel well. I went into the kitchen and helped myself to an apple. Aunt Dawn set up my new chair and classical baby while I ate it. I also ate hamburger, blackberries, and some home made mac-n-cheese. I even got a frozen fruit sorbet which was really yummy! After dinner Uncle John and I cuddled a little before I fell asleep in his lap. Last night Mommy set her alarm to check on me every two hours and when she took my temp at 1 am it was 103.8. Mommy freaked out again and I got another bath and more Tylenol of course. My fever stayed pretty high most of the night but finally went down in the early morning. It's usually around 99 or 100 something when it isn't spiking. Mommy found some pictures on a camera chip she forgot about. They were from when she took me to the splash park and a little scooter she bought for 2.50 at a garage sale.

Art Class

Today was my first art class. Cassie came with us and boy was Mommy glad because I was pretty fussy. I thought we were going swimming so when I saw we weren't at the pool I was a little upset. We started off coloring before class started and then we made a doggie hat. I helped glue the spots on. Actually I dabbed some glue on a square, stuck the glue bottle in my mouth and then tried picking up the wet square. Mommy did most of the work. Next we made a doggie necklace with beads and a doggie in the middle. Those beads looked good and I tried eating each and every one. Next, we made a dog house picture. Mommy tried to get me involved with smearing the glue with my hands but after I felt it once I wasn't really interested. Mommy did most of the work. We made a doggie bone with cotton balls. I liked trying to throw and dump the bowl out. Finally we played with some play dough. It was purple and I knew Daddy would say something so I really didn't want to touch. After Cassie made a snowman though I couldn't resist tearing it down. After art we went to swim class. Today we played in the splash down pool (the bottom of the water slide). We practiced a lot of reaching again today but it was more fun because I had Mommy and Cassie to reach between. We sang Tick Tock, played motorboat, did Humpty Dumpty off the slide, practiced floating (I hated my back more then ever today), they tried getting me to blow bubbles (I still just drank lots of water), and even played Simon Says.

Water Park

I had my second swim class today and I had more fun in the water because I wasn't looking around so much. We sang songs, jumped in the shallow end, practiced blowing bubbles (I just dunked my face), and practiced floating on our tummies and backs (I still don't like being on my back). We also played with some water toys. Mommy would throw it and I was supposed to go on my tummy (being held of course) and reach for the toy. I took a nap when we got home and then we went to play with Dawn, Cassie and Johnny. Mommy, Cassie, and Johnny took me to the public pool which is more like a mini water park. It was really cool and cheap! I was free of course and it cost Mommy $1.50, and my cousins were only .50 each. We all got really wet but it was neat. There are about 5-6 of these pools around so we need to check them all out.

Star Swim Class

This is the indoor Kiwanis wave pool.

Today was the first day of my swimming class. Daddy went with me today because he doesn't go to work until 11 am on Mondays. He was the only dad there and it was pretty cool. We sang songs and played in the water. The instructor tried getting us used to being on our backs and to blow bubbles but I didn't like either of those but it was just the first day and we'll see how it is tomorrow.
