South Mountain

Look I even got chocolate on my leg

This morning we went out to breakfast at Cracker Barrel for Daddy's birthday. We went to church and I got to see Johnny playing guitar in Venue (the main church service)! He did really good and I clapped for him. Mommy knew I wouldn't sit still so she had Cassie take me to the nursery. I still do not like it! They said I was fussy and I was crying when Mommy came to get me. After church Daddy and Papa went golfing again while we drove up South Mountain and saw the city view. It was cool and I tried pointing out the neat things I saw. We even went to Scottsdale Fashion Square mall where I got a pair of shorts and the coolest bubbles ever. Mommy has been wanting to buy me these bubbles for a long time. We saw them at the Gymboree class we took and at the library. They make a ton of tiny bubbles that don't make a mess (they are dry when you pop them), some float to the ceiling like they have helium in them and they last forever. Later we met up with Daddy and Papa Ferry for dinner at Charleston's. It was good and I got to eat my own yogurt, fruit, crackers and cheese plate. Mommy even let me try one of her fried okra and it was ok. We went over to Aunt Dawn's to celebrate Daddy's birthday and she had a chocolate fountain with lots of stuff to dip in it (strawberry, banana, marshmellows, pretzels, cherrys, and cream puffs. Daddy really loved it! I even got to stick my hand in at the end and get a lick (I'm so glad no one saw until it was too late!). Daddy got an I-Pod and he is so excited to use it. Thank you Grammy and Papa Ferry for such a wonderful visit and thank you to the Cherne's for giving Daddy such a special birthday!

Time with Grammy Ferry

Today Daddy and Papa Ferry went golfing. Mommy, Grammy and me went shopping at Ikea. Mommy bought me cups, plates, and a few other house things. Grammy bought me a toy hammer with a block and toy nails to hit, and a push toy which I love (see video below). On the way home we went out to lunch at Dilly's Deli. Kids eat free so I got my own grilled cheese. It was ok but I preferred Mommy's potato soup which was really good! I threw a fit when it was all gone and Grammy had to go buy me some more.

Here I am with one of my new push/pull toy. At the end of the video you can hear me say, "Ja" for Jax when I see him outside. I like to call my doggie all the time.

Today I figured out how to spin around and make myself dizzy. Nobody even showed me how. Everyone was watching the hockey game and I just started doing it. I was pretty much done by the time Mommy got the video out but you can see me do it once before I fall down.

Mommy knew I was in the kitchen talking away but when she came to check on me she saw what I was doing...standing in Papa's loafers. Grammy Ferry went out to lunch and shopping with Aunt Mickey while Papa Ferry went out to meet an old friend. Mommy and I played and hung out at home most of the day. Later we went grocery shopping and they cooked out steaks for dinner.

Grammy and Papa Ferry

Grammy and Papa Ferry got here from Michigan today. It took me a little bit to get warmed up to them again but I'm having a good time now. We went out to dinner at Macayo's and I got to eat my first grilled cheese sandwich.

Pimp My Ride

Aunt Dawn pimped my Little Tikes car and now it is all decked out to be a Michigan mobile. Go blue! It is so cool!

Izabel

Hey baby! Want to go for a spin?

Mommy and I went to lunch today to meet her old friend Mandy and her daughter Izabel. We went to Olive Garden and I got to eat macaroni and cheese. Izabel even shared some crackers with me and they were good. She is a cutie and really well behaved! After lunch we went to the mall and played in the kiddie area for a little bit. Izabel was hesitant and first but then she checked out some stuff with me. I hope we can get together and play again.

Me with my new Lego Knight hat (it came with a sword and shield too)
My new Home Depot tools
Playing in my new kitchen wearing my new Batman pajamas
My very own chair. I like to smile for pictures now too. What a ham!
I like tools!
Mom decided to try the overalls without the shirt...a little hill billy if you ask me.
Me with Daddy
Aunt Dawn feeding me strawberriesCuddling with Uncle John
Swimming with Johnny

Water play

My new thing is dragging stuff behind me. I like walking the stuffed dog.

I've got the walking down and now I'm pretty good at getting up on my own too!

Aunt Dawn has been having fun on Craigslist and she found some free stuff in the neighborhood. I got a new tool bench workshop with tools, a popping push toy, a play kitchen (the mustard bottle is my favorite), kiddie patio chairs, and a castle (I haven't seen this yet). They even bought me a Little Einsteins spaceship, new Batman jammies, and some other shirts too. Mommy wanted to get in on the fun and bought me the Home Depot tools and Lego knight outfit.

Haircut, Drive-in, Ice cream

On Thursday we went bowling with the Cherne's. It was fun to watch everybody bowl. Aunt Dawn won me 3 basketballs in the crane game and even a cute little duck stuffed animal.
Mommy finished school on Friday so now she is home for the summer! Woo hoo! She signed me up for a swim class that will last two weeks and an art class that we will go to once a week. We are going to have so much fun. Yesterday we went and got my haircut again (this is my 5th). It looks pretty darn cute. Mom and Dad went short for the summer. It was neat because there was a little girl birthday party going on and I enjoyed watching the girls. After that we went over to Dawn's for dinner. It was so yummy! I ate potatoes, some edimame and some steak. After dinner we decided to go to the drive-in. We watched Star Trek and the sequel to Monsters Inc. I fell asleep during Star Trek but I woke up at the end and I sat and watched all of Monsters. This morning we went to church. Now that I'm a walker I've moved up a class. Mom thought it would be fun for me to check it out and hang with the other kids but the ladies said I was tired and really fussy the whole time. We went to Baskin Robbins for ice cream after and that made it all better. Later we are going over to the Cherne's again for some wings and a swim.

After Surgery

I'm pretty sore, swollen and bruised. My eyes even look like I have two black eyes. Sometimes I have a lot of energy and play hard while others I just sit on Mommy or Daddy's lap. I've been running a fever but not high enough for the doctors to worry. The biggest problem is that I'm not drinking. I haven't had milk or formula all day today and I would only drink a little juice. Mommy tried just about everything. I liked the lime Eegees the best and got a lot of that down. Hopefully tomorrow I'll drink more or they'll have to take me to the ER because that's way too long and I'll be pretty dehydrated. I went to the airport today to drop off Cassie. She is going to Chicago to visit Uncle John. Oh yeah Mommy forgot to tell everyone that on Mother's Day I took about 6 steps on my own and all week I've been taken a few between the couch, table and other things. Yesterday and Today I started doing it even more. It's so neat to walk. Today a took about 5-6 steps on my own probably about 10 times. Check me out on the video below.

Surgery

Look at Daddy in the little chair! Hehe
Yesterday Cassie and Johnny took me swimming and I even got to have warm peaches off their tree. They were so good! Last night Mommy, Daddy, Aunt Dawn and Cassie took me to Chuckie Cheese. They were trying to keep me awake as long as they could because my surgery wasn't until 10:45 am and I wasn't going to be allowed to eat or drink in the morning. I had Chuckie Cheese all to myself because not a lot of kids are playing and eating pizza at 9:00 pm. The lady even made me a big goodies bag because she heard I was having surgery. After Chuckie Cheese we went over to the Cherne's and I played hard. I slept pretty good and was amazing in the morning. You couldn't even tell I hadn't been able to eat or drinkg. We checked in at 8:45 am. We had to fill out paperwork and hang around awhile but then we heard that Dr. Chang was running 45 minutes ahead so they moved us back to pre-op fairly quickly. They had a neat pediatric waiting room with lots of toys and even a car that Mommy and Daddy pushed me around in. The anesthesiologist, the doctor, and my personal nurse all came to see me and talk to Mommy and Daddy. They dressed me in my hospital gown and took me away at 10:05. The surgery was expected to be about an hour but it took more like an hour and 45 minutes. The doctor told Mommy and Daddy that it was a lot more difficult then he thought...one of the hardest he'd seen. He called it a hernia not a hydrocele and said it was difficult to get it all away from my other tissue. He also checked my left side by forcing some air in it to make sure the same thing won't occur over there. They let Mommy and Daddy come back when I was waking up about 12:00 pm. I drank some milk and sat in Mommy's lap for about a half hour before they let us go home. Aunt Dawn and Johnny came to get me so it would be easier getting in and out of the car seat. Mommy went to get my prescription filled while they took me home.

Mother's Day

We went out to breakfast at Denny's and then drove down to Tucson with Aunt Dawn to see Grammie. We had fun and ate lunch together. I even got my own lollipop. I was such a good boy in the car and slept most of the way there and back.

My First Play

On Saturday when went over to the Cherne's for dinner. Daddy went to the driving range to hit some balls and he came a little late but we had a good time. After dinner we went to Cassie's musical, Once Upon a Mattress. It was REALLY good and I liked it. I sat still and watched for almost the entire thing. I got a little antsy and Aunt Dawn walked around the back with me for a bit but I did really good. Mommy wasn't sure if I recognized Cassie but I did! I liked her first costume better then the 2nd because all the feathers kind of scared me.

Winnie the Pooh

We went to Changing Hands bookstore on Saturday and I got to meet Winnie the Pooh. I seem to have a fascination with the noses on all the big characters.

Aunt Dawn showed me how to play the harmonica and it is lots of fun.

Today we went on a picnic to Kiwanis Park with Daddy's friend Riley, his girlfriend Andrea, and their boys Isaac (8), Tristan (6), and Aaiden (6 months). It was fun but I wanted to play with the big boys (Frisbee and football) and crawl around on the grass tasting everything.

Phoenix Children's Museum

Tonight we went to the Children's Museum downtown. It was free because it was the 1st Friday of the month. It was a little crowded but I still had fun. It will be even better when I'm bigger and can walk.

The noodle maze was my favorite

but I had fun in the tunnels too.

Last week

This was one of my birthday presents from Aunt Dawn. It is so much fun!
Mommy let me have a dill pickle. I hadn't had one since Disneyland. I ate the whole thing but I later puked it all up.
Snickers wanted a toy so I thought I would assist.
Playing on the Cherne's rocker in my cute new Tigers jersey.
Dad and I snoozing on the couch.

My Little Tykes slide is a lot more fun now that I can climb up and go down on my own. It's even more fun climbing back up the slide.

I've gotten pretty good at going down stairs. Here is a video of how it's done.

Here is a video of me playing in my water table.
