I love to swim!

I really like to go swimming. I get more comfortable everytime. I really want to get my head in the water. Mommy doesn't it like it but I usually get my face in there at least once or twice. Mom and Dad bought me a new boat for the pool and we went swimming on Saturday. Grammie and Papa bought me a new swimsuit with a hat and a boat for me. The sunglasses Aunt Dawn and Cassie got me finally fit so I was really decked out when I went swimming today. I got to swim twice today with Grammie.

3 Months Old

I am three months old today (Friday 7/25/08). Everyone tells me what a big boy I am. Mommy and Daddy were in the store and they saw a little girl. Mommy asked the lady how old the baby was and the lady said 3 months tomorrow. Mommy was laughing and she told Daddy that he had to see this baby. The lady didn't know what was so funny until she asked how old I was. When mommy told her I was three months old the lady couldn't believe it. The other baby was so tiny compared to me. I've practically outgrown my infant car seat already and I'm wearing 6-9 and 9 month outfits already. Nobody believes I was a preemie.

3 Month Visit

The nurse who checks on preemies came to the house this morning for my check-up. She said I was doing really good. I was so big that she decided not to even put me on the preemie chart for height and weight. I weighed 15 lbs and 11.5 ounces (I'm in the 100 percentile) and was 26 3/4 inches long (100 percentile). Yes, I know I'm a healthy big boy! I'm doing good with all my milestones but I still need a little work holding my head up. The nurse says I need more tummy time but I really just don't seem to like it. This afternoon I went with mom to work. She had a meeting and I was a good boy who took my nap for most of the time. Mom had to change my VERY messy diaper though and then I woke up and checked everyone out. I played for a little bit while Mommy started to get her classroom ready for the sub who will start the school year for her. Daddy read me my new favorite book, Naughty Little Monkeys and I fell asleep. Mommy put a video of daddy on You Tube. Monday Night

Mommy was taking daddy to work this morning when there was a motorcycle accident in front of us. Mommy was calling 911 and told daddy to go check on the motorcycle lady. Daddy came back and told mommy that the lady was in bad shape so mommy gave daddy the phone and went to help. I stayed in the car with daddy while mommy waited with her for the ambulance. I heard mommy on the phone when her family called and it doesn't sound like she will make it. Mommy and I said a prayer and we hope she is going to be ok. Tonight was Monday night with at my aunt and uncles. I had fun as usual. Aunt Dawn kept me up late so that I would sleep good for mommy. Mommy borrowed a machine they had so she could put some of my videos on the computer.

Slept Through the Night

Mommy is so proud of me! I slept in my big boy bed and I slept through the night. I went to bed kind of late (11 pm) downstairs in mommy's lap but she put me in my crib at midnight and I slept until 6am when I was hungry. Mommy woke up at 5am and freaked out because she couldn't believe I hadn't woken her up. She had to come and check on me and make sure I was still breathing. After I ate at 6am I was still sleepy. I didn't want to go back to my own bed so I just slept with Mommy. I smiled really big this morning because Mommy was just so proud of me. We went to the library today and I got my very first library card. Yes, at three months! The lady at the library looked at Mommy weird too. Anyway it has a pirate on it and I checked out some Dr. Seuss books to read. We went to Aunt Dawn and Uncle John's for dinner and I got to go swimming. I had a lot of fun and even got to play in a crab raft. I can't wait to go swimming again.

Nap Time

Last night Mommy tried to but me in my crib to sleep. It didn't go so well because I was lonely but I bet she'll try again. I fussed and fussed every single time she left the room. Sometimes she let me cry a little before she came back but she always came back. Eventually she gave in and took me to her bed and I slept really good. Today Mommy tried getting me on a schedule by feeding me at certain times and putting me down for a nap. I WAS NOT liking it! I want to eat and sleep when I feel like it. I wouldn't take a nap and kept fussing when Mommy put me down but then she put Jax in bed with me and I feel fast asleep. Jax is my buddy.

Story Time with Daddy

Daddy read me a story today. It was a book called Naughty Little Monkeys. There was a naughty monkey from each letter of the alphabet. I liked it and looked at all the pictures. I really enjoy reading. My favorite book is still Panda Bear, Panda Bear, What Do You See?

Swimming at Mommy's Old House

Today Grammie and Papa came to visit again. Papa has to go to the doctor for his hand again in the morning. Mommy and I went to her old house and I went swimming with Grammie. Mommy had put me in my swim trunks and shirt but a storm was coming and she knew we could only be in the pool for a minute. When she took them off I started screaming because I thought I wasn't going to get to go swimming but she let me swim in my diaper and I was happy. I'm getting pretty good at swimming and today I even moved my arms. Check out the video below.

My First Bank Account

Mommy and Daddy took me to the bank today and I have my very first savings account. Yeah! I'm excited. I only have $25.00 (Great-Aunt Noni sent it) so far but it's a start and Mommy and Daddy can add more later.

Big Storm

Today I went to mommy's friend Susan's house. We had fun and I saw a BIG doggie! Her bark kind of startled me. Tonight we went to Aunt Dawn's for dinner. We had fun but it was just a short visit. When we went to take Daddy home there was A LOT of rain! I've never seen so much rain. Mommy could hardly see and when we got off the freeway it was totally flooded! We had to drive real slow in the middle of the road. Mommy thought the water was going to come in through the car door it was so high. We waited with Daddy for a long time because it was raining so hard. I saw lots of lightening and heard the thunder.

4th of July

I spent the morning at Aunt Dawn's with Grammie and Papa. Papa got home from the hospital last night. He had two surgeries so far and will come back again next week to have it checked out. They had to move a vein and nerve in his arm into his finger. They also put in a pin and some plates. I'm glad papa is ok and didn't lose his finger. We had to say goodbye to Johnny today because he is going to the Dominican Republic on a mission trip for 2 weeks. I'm going to miss him! We will be praying he is safe and has a good time. This afternoon we went to a friend of mommy's barbecue. Mommy hadn't seen her friend Betty in a long time. It was a long drive but we had fun. I went swimming and met a cute girl who was a few months older than me. After that we went back to Aunt Dawn's and they watched a movie while I slept. Maybe next 4th I'll be able to see the fireworks.

Meeting Uncle Jeff

I got to meet my Uncle Jeff for the first time today. Grammie, Papa and Uncle Jeff all drove up from Tucson. We were celebrating Uncle Jeff's B-day (29th) and Grammie's b-day (30th). Grammie had a cake with strawberrys and Uncle Jeff had a rice crispy treat cake. I saw mommy eat some. Daddy got to see them all in the morning but he didn't get cake because he had to work. I played with papa on the floor and everyone took their turn holding me. Grammie and papa had to go to the other house to show it to some possible buyers. While there papa accidently shot himself in the hand. The bullet went through the knuckle of his middle finger in his right hand. Uncle John rushed him to the hospital. Grammie and papa were just coming for the day but they ended up staying and Aunt Dawn took Uncle Jeff home to take care of the dogs. Cassie and Johnny had their first turn babysitting me all by themselves while mommy went to the hospital. They were good babysitters but I was a little cranky just to see how they'd handle it.
