I Met Santa

Today Daddy went to work to make up for his missed day on Thanksgiving. Normally I don't get to see Daddy on Sundays but today was special. After we got Daddy from work we went to see Santa. I was so good! I didn't cry and freak out like those other babies. He has a beard like my Papa. Mommy thinks Papa should grow his beard out around Christmas and he can play Santa in the mall. You know Papa they make over $100 an hour? Mommy says that's a lot but her or Daddy can't play Santa. After that we went to see the lights at the Mormon Temple. They always put up a lot of decorations. I had to get all bundled up because it was cold outside. Mommy and Daddy didn't realize that there are missionaries EVERYWHERE trying to talk with you. Next time maybe we'll just drive by in the car. Also, everyone kept saying, "What a cute little girl". I told Mommy this dog hat looked silly. Before taking Daddy back he needed to eat dinner so we went to Genghis Grill which is at the Tempe Marketplace. When we got there it was snowing. Well not really it was soap bubbles but it looked like snow as it fell. I'll probably need to see it a few more times before I enjoy it. I was that way with bubbles too.

1st Thanksgiving Part Two

Mommy thought we should make some Thanksgiving crafts. I helped with this turkey. I let Mommy trace my hands and feet. The brown turkey body is my feet and the feathers are my hands.

Today we went over to the Cherne's to have Thanksgiving again. Aunt Dawn planned to have a special Thanksgiving so Daddy could be there. The Cherne's didn't have a 1st Thanksgiving because they were planning on going to Palm Desert but when Papa got sick they decided to stay home. Mommy and Daddy said the food was fantastic! Cassie even made a lot of different desserts. Mmmm! Thank you Chernes! Mommy made me my own little baby food feast. I ate green beans, peas, carrots, and sweet potatoes. After dinner Mommy, Daddy and Johnny played some Wii bowling. Mommy creamed them in both games. Then we played Wii tennis (Mommy and Daddy versus Johnny) and Johnny won both games. When I'm big enough I bet I could beat everyone.

My First Real Haircut

So if you remember back in August my mom trimmed my hair while I was sleeping. So technically this is my 2nd haircut but this time we went to the professionals and had the whole experience. We had it cut at Snip-Its which specializes in kid cuts so it was a lot of fun. I sat so good!!! There was a 5 year old who was screaming that they had to hold down but I just sat there like a big boy. At first Mommy was getting scared because it sure looked like she was cutting a lot but everyone agrees that it really looks good. The sides and the back look really good because it is all smooth and even. I don't have those bald looking patches next to really long hair.

1st Thanksgiving

Papa was sick this week and had to go to the hospital. Auntie Dawn went to help switch off with Grammie so Mommy stayed home from work with me on Tuesday and Wednesday. Papa got better so they let him come home on Wednesday but they aren't totally sure what was wrong with him so he had to stay close to home. Mommy and I went to Palm Desert, California for the Fincher family reunion. We left on Wednesday around 4 pm but didn't get there until 9 pm (they are an hour earlier). A trip that normally takes 4 hours took us 6. It took 2 hours just to get out of Phoenix. I was a good boy though and I slept most of the way. I woke up and played with some toys a couple of times. I didn't like it in the dark so Mommy had to turn on the overhead light. I think she thought I was scared but I really just wanted to see my toys. When we got there I played for a few hours and then went right to bed with Mommy. In the morning I got to hang out with Nana (my great grandma), my great aunt Sandy, and my 2nd and 3rd cousins Steve, Tiffany, Steven, Meagan, Pat and Dale. We went and visited Nana's friend Lyle and he gave me a big green John Deer tractor that I can play with when I get bigger. Around noon or one we left to go to Aunt Nora's because the family reunion was going to be at the clubhouse at her country club. Mommy and I got to see a lot of people that she had never met or hadn't seen in a long time. I was the youngest so I got a lot of attention. I was VERY well behaved and I smiled for everyone! Mommy, Meagan and I went for a walk around the lake and I saw my first ducks. I thought it was funny when Mommy said they were taking a bath. She is silly because to me it looked like they were swimming. Mommy and everyone ate some good food but all I got was green beans. Oh yeah and Nana let me have some water out of a cup. I took a nap and hung out a lot with Nana. After dinner and dessert Mommy and I had to head home. It was about 6pm when we left and I fell asleep after about 15 minutes and stayed asleep almost the whole way. Mommy says that I am such a good boy! When we got home I played a little before both Mommy and I went to sleep. I was really excited to be home and to see Jax. I had a good time but Mommy told me we were going to see Grammie and Papa so I'm pretty sad they couldn't come. Hopefully Papa will keep feeling better and we can go visit next weekend because I miss them.

Santa

My First Cold

Saturday one of Mommy's co-workers, Mr. Felicetti brought us a new recliner. Well it isn't really new but it's new to us. Mommy thinks it will be her chair and Daddy thinks it will be his but so far Jax has sat on it the most. We picked up Daddy from work before running a few errands and then we went to the Cherne's for dinner. It was going to be Uncle John's birthday Sunday but since Daddy wouldn't be out we wanted to see him on Saturday. Sunday morning Mommy and I went to church. We saw Uncle John and Cousin Johnny there. I was a good boy today and took a nap for about 3/4 of it. After church Mommy and I played awhile and then we both took a long afternoon nap. I've had a runny and stuffy nose for a few days and today I started with a little cough. Mommy says it is my first cold. I hope I get better soon because it's hard to drink my bottle with such a stuffy nose and Mommy doesn't want me to be sick for our trip to California for Thanksgiving.

Baby Beethoven Drive-In

Auntie Dawn took the roof off my car and parked me in front of the big screen to watch Baby Beethoven. It was like my own private drive-in. Uncle John pushed me around the house and we went very fast. Uncle John was telling Mommy about it and saying, "I was pushing him really fast on the tile" and CJ said, "Yeah." It was cute. In the last picture CJ is wearing Mommy's shades.

Genghis Grill

Mommy stayed home from work today because I was awake A WHOLE LOT last night! Mommy thinks maybe it was because I'm teething but I can't talk so I can't tell her if she is right or wrong. I was so fussy most of the day and I refused to take any naps. I fell asleep for about 15 minutes in the morning and about 30 in the evening but that was it. Mommy hopes I'll sleep better tonight but I fell asleep about 43 minutes ago (9pm) and am already stirring around. =(
I went to lunch with Mommy, Aunt Dawn, Cassie and Johnny. That was a lot of fun and I wasn't fussy at all. They went to Genghis Grill which has quickly become Mommy and Daddy's favorite restaurant. It is a Mongolian barbecue type of place. Mom and I went to Target to get a few things after. Mom even bought me a new toy that I picked out. I liked the new Elmo. Mommy went to the display and pushed like 5 Elmos at once and it was like a round. I thought it was so funny. Mommy did it again and again. She's a good Mommy. Everyone was looking at her but she didn't care because I was having fun. We picked Daddy up from work and went and got my Christmas pictures taken. You'll have to wait to see the results but I wore the Santa suit up above.

My New Shades

Daddy bought me some really cute jeans and some new shades. Now I have sunglasses at Mommy's and Aunt Dawn's. Now they just need to get me a hat for Aunt Dawn's and I'll be all set to go for stroller rides here in the Arizona desert. Mommy thinks I need a haircut. What do you think?

Sweater Vest

This morning Mommy was feeding me and Jax was going crazy barking outside. Mommy put me down on the couch to let him in and I decide to try and climb down. I fell and bumped my head. This is the second time now I've fallen off the couch so I think my Mommy needs to be more careful! I don't think she'll leave me alone on anything above the floor again. I was going to go to the nursery at church this morning but because of my fall Mommy wanted to keep an eye on me. I was all dressed up and looking cute for church though. I looked around for Lilly (cute little 10 month old girl I have a crush on) because I wanted her to see me in my new big boy outfit but I didn't find her. We went over to Aunt Dawn's for dinner at Mommy ate meatloaf. John and Johnny decorated for Christmas and I really liked the Christmas lights. They even put a train around the Christmas tree.

Romp N Roll

When Mommy came to pick me up Friday I was outside taking a ride in my new coop car. Aunt Dawn bought it for me at a garage sale and she took me for a walk around the neighborhood. I was really enjoying riding along with my bunny bear (bear in a bunny costume). Mommy thought I was so cute but that isn't really anything new. Today Mommy and me went to Romp N' Roll. It was a lot of fun! I laughed, talked and smiled. My favorite part was when the lady took out all the instruments. I liked playing the tambourine the best. I also really liked the bubble machine at the end. Mommy thought it was ok but she liked Gymboree better because it was really the same thing but Gymboree was a little more organized and had more kids. We picked up Daddy from work and wanted to go somewhere but couldn't decide what to do. We ended up going to the mall and I got to ride my first carousel. Daddy picked the giraffe and it was the only one that didn't go up and down but I had fun anyway.

Veteran's Day

Mommy and Daddy finally found me a hat (shopping on Saturday). Don't I look so cute? This morning I went to the pediatric urologist. He looked at my hydrocelle and did an ultrasound to make sure it was ok. I was such a good boy. The doctor said it looks ok and we still need to wait and see if it heals all by itself. I go back in February and they will decide if they will do surgery then. Mommy took me downtown to the parade. I had fun and stayed awake for the whole thing (2 hours) even though it was nap time. My favorite was definitely the marching bands but I also liked the clowns, motorcycles and the little cheerleaders. After the parade we went to the VA hospital and nursing home to say thank you and pass out cards that mommy's students made.

Ball pit

Don't I look so big? We went to church this morning and I was a pretty good boy but Mommy says that next week I'll probably go to the nursery. I'm excited to play with the other kids. After church we played at home. Mommy bought this pool on clearance for $1.50 and put some balls in it. Both Jax and I like to play in it. Mommy is going to try and find more balls to fill it up.

Here is CJ eating green beans for the first time. He didn't like them as much as peas.
